The London Nordic Choir

The London Nordic Choir (LNC) is an independent chamber choir, noted for vibrant performances or a cappella pieces, uniting those with a passion for choral singing to capture and promote the unique sound of the traditional Nordic choral works. With performances in St John’s Smith Square, York Minster, Southbank and other prominent venues; the choir is celebrated for its lyrical interpretations and dynamic tone.

The choir is comprised of 25 singers from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and levels of experience. What unites us is a profound love of creating music, the curiosity to explore dynamics and harmony, and a dedication to capture the essence of each piece, be it medieval or modern; classical or choral.

With a continued ardour to deliver a performance of the highest quality, the aim is to create dramatic programmes, touching performances and unforgettable experiences, allowing the audiences to be moved by the intimacy of the human voice.

Conductor, composer and professional musician, Carina Einarson studied music at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm with legendary Professor Eric Ericson amongst others. Her technical acumen and creative versatility brought her to London, where she has performed on BBC3 Radio, led evensongs in St Paul’s Cathedral and worked as Musical Director at the Swedish Church. Carina has an intuitive ability to grow the choristers musically and to develop their voices under her guidance. Her energy, zeal and passion for music and singing, and her motivational leadership has greatly contributed to London Nordic Choir’s acclaim.

This winter season, the choir is thrilled to return by invitation to perform for a third time in the Lucia: Festival of Light service in York Minster, and to share a shimmering radiant evening together.
